After a year of so of playing hooky after graduation, I went to school at SDSU and received my degree in Commercial Economics (I already had a degree in Drunk and Disorderly).  At SDSU I met Lynn (Ten Eyck), lynn.beck@state.sd.us, and we were married in 1985.  Lynn is a Civil Engineer for the State of South Dakota in the Water Rights division of DENR.  We have one son, Bryan, bryan.beck@usd.edu, who is just starting his college career as a freshman at USD in Vermillion.  He too has already earned his degree in D&D.  As for me, my brother Steve and I run Beck Motor Company.  We couldn’t do it without the help of a great staff that make our lives easy.  Lynn and I look forward to seeing everybody at the reunion in July.

I am living in Sioux Falls and working for NorthWestern Energy as their Director of Government and Regulatory Affairs for SD and NE.  NorthWestern is a gas and electric utility in MT, SD, and NE.  I moved back to Sioux Falls in Nov. 2006 after spending just shy of 3 yrs back in Pierre.  I left Lewis and Clark RWS in Dec. 2002 to take on the role of the Executive Director of the Public Utilities Commission.  I was very happy when the position with NorthWestern became available as I was missing Sioux Falls.  I still enjoy playing golf when I can, getting together with friends to share a "beverage or two or many :), having Lori Obenauer-Lewis , Kerry Johnson-Bowars  and Deb Jundt-Bakeberg ('77) down for our annual "girls weekend", and of course, spoiling my six nieces and nephews whenever possible.  Life is good and am looking forward to seeing all of you next summer.  A special thanks to the Pierre crew for pulling this together!
