Roxanne Harrison (Smith)

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Comment: My wonderful husband, Chris and I just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary.  We have been blessed with two special daughters, Rachael (20) and Sarah (17) that keep us grounded in humor.  After graduation I moved to Texas to be with the rest of my family and attended college.  Met the perfect man in Dallas where we were married and had our children.  We decided after having the girls and the life altering experience of Desert Storm (Chris' unit was activated) that things in life needed to slow down and we needed to focus on our girls.  South Dakota is a great place to raise children and a ranch is even better.  So in 1995 we moved to the country, culture shock for a city boy and the girls.  Of course we relocated that year of the bad snow storms.  But, hunting and fishing cures everything apparently.  Chris is now the IT Director for St. Mary's Hospital and I am the Administrative Assistant for the SD Wheat Commission.  The girls are both in school and doing great.  After traveling, I think the sunsets are unbeatable here.  I very much look forward to seeing you all.  Please remember to send pictures to Barb Bonhorst and me for the power point presentation!

Comment:

Janna and I will hit 20 years in November. Our almost-teenage boys keep us busy with many activities and I've had the pleasure of coaching them and their friends in many sports. For the past 15 years, I have been the executive director of the Professional Liability Underwriting Sociey, a non-profit association with over 6,500 members around the world. Our HQ is just west of Minneapolis, as is our Golden Valley home.

I am unofficially semi-retired from softball, though I still played a number of games last summer. Golf is a better speed these days, and I enjoy dart league in the winters with some good friends.

I am looking forward to seeing so many old friends, enjoying our wonderful home town, and winning the keg race behind the Ikes.

Finally got around to higher education in 1984.  Received an accounting degree from BHSC and took a job with a public accounting firm in Spearfish.  I survived four years of public accounting before accepted a position in Pierre with the SD Department of Revenue; I'm still with the Department today.  Still quite a few 78ers living in the Pierre area, hard to go anywhere without running into one.   Little wonder, Pierre still rocks!

Great website!!!!
